Bad pet food being recalled

Warning

Many of us have pets - check what you are feeding them just as you watch what you feed you

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A major manufacturer of dog and cat food sold under Wal-Mart, Safeway, Kroger and other store brands recalled 60 million containers of wet pet food Friday after reports of kidney failure and deaths....

The recall covers the company's "cuts and gravy" style food, which consists of chunks of meat in gravy, sold in cans and small foil pouches between December 3 and March 6 throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico...

The pet food was sold by stores operated by the Kroger Co., Safeway Inc., Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and PetSmart Inc.

HUH? CNN takes another cue from Faux Noise

From the CNN website

"I'm surprised that they're saying that there's no politics involved, and we're still 2½ weeks away from April Fool's Day," said Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-New Hampshire, chairman of the Senate panel. "How can they possibly stand there with a straight face and say that's not politics? Of course it's politics." [bold is mine -ld]

One would think that a "news" story could get this correct - after all there are only 100 Senators and I can Google that list pretty fast.. It isn't that Leahy is a new Senator - he's been there a long time. Guess CNN doesn't fact check even these basics. Or they think Vermont and New Hampshire are one and the same? Or they have taken a page from Faux Noise who make a habit of mislabeling.

Leahy is D-Vermont.

So shrub is "not happy"

Gee I feel so sorry for the pretender to the throne- he's not happy - why? Because mistakes were made? or because it was interfering with his cheerleader trip to South America? or because the WH attorney was being asked questions by the press and by Congress?

I mean how dare the citizens demand answers and accountability. Kings do not take well to being challenged - they are accountable to no one and can pout when the press points out "mistakes."

Let's see - mistakes were also made in these locales:

Florida and Ohio elections
Iraq
New Orleans
Afghanistan
Korea
Iran
Israel
Syria

Actually it might be easier to list places and areas where no mistakes were made:

Accepting responsibility

Here we go again with the admin's take on how to accept responsibility without actually doing so.

According to WH attorney Gonzales, "mistakes were made." DUH!
Oh yes and he'll be sure to investigate those "mistakes" like Ashcroft did while heading the original investigation into the leaking of Valerie Plame's identity.

No way....we need an independent person to oversee the investigation of the Department of Justice. It is not supposed to be yet another branch of the shrub - it is or used to be there to protest the Constitution and the citizens - not to run ramshod over both.

Bring on an Independent investigator like Fitzgerald - but we know they wont ask him again - he did not play nice with the WH.

Great minds and esp and all

after I posted the above - along came my BuzzFlash afternoon Buzz

and we are on the same page

They have a link to CREW's blog HERE where this is said:

CREW wants the immediate appointment of a Special Prosecutor to investigate potential criminal violations related to the recent dismissals of eight U.S. Attorneys. Recent revelations indicate that a top-ranking Department of Justice official knew that statements made by top Department officials were not true. Clearly, the Department of Justice cannot investigate itself and prosecute the misconduct of DOJ officials. CREW also asked the Department of Justice’s Inspector General and Office of Professional Responsibility to investigate the situation.
