Smith can't tell the truth about being a republic

Smith has been running ads, almost non-stop, without identifying himself as an R...duh - I wonder why?

Instead he pretends that he's done great bipartisan "stuff" and even has pix of Obama in his ads and a few misguided Oregonian ex-pols how say they are dems for smith - but they can't be dems! Dems are smart and Dems know better..

Smith is in lockstep with mad king george and votes with the repugs and then comes to Oregon and says he is a moderate.. sorry - yo are a moderate my ass, you are a pandering say-anything-to-get-elected sycophant.

But the DSCC will now run ads showing who Smith really is...a solid shrub loving republic!

Join the JohnMcSameMcBushIII pity parties

Let's all say boo hoo for JohnMcSameMcBushIII

He practically goaded Obama into going to Iraq and now can't stand that Obama went to Iraq. I know - he wanted Obama to ask him to go along on the trip since the only way JohnMcSameMcBush III will get lots of high value press coverage is if he at the same event at the same time as Obama.

So what else can JohnMcSameMcBushIII do? He can copy cat Obama's website..it's hilarious - as if he and his staff just discovered online networking - well maybe they did - but a good staff person would have noted Obama's My Obama sites a long time ago and started one then????? [I've had a My Obama page on the site since April - before my own primary!]

I went to the JohnMcSameMcBushIII site and looked for "events" in my area and for up to 100 miles away - and found 1 - yup ONE.

And when I clicked "go" to get more information I was greeted with a page that started with Ask to Attend, then asked for name, email and comments. The comments section is required and only then [I guess] can you click the button that says "request invitation."

Ah JohnMcSameMcBushIII still has the same fear of people as does mad king george. He can't just allow people to go to his events; they need to request invites. Do they run the names thru the secret data bases to rule out anyone but repugs?

If you go to the Obama site and look for events - you can sign up online and go...no screening - Obama people are not afraid of people and their opinions.

Bush Legacy Tour in Beaverton

thanks to Alan Best for the photos

McSame's only 2 options

In my inbox today:

Senator McCain once said that if the Iraqis asked us to leave, we would have to leave. Those of us who served agree with that. Senator McCain now either has to back off his refusal to set a plan to leave Iraq, as Prime Minister Maliki requested a number of times in the past week, or tell the American and Iraqi people why he would overrule Iraq's government and turn our troops into an indefinite occupying force. Those are his only two options. Our [votevets.org] new ad makes that clear.

It's not who the press "loves"....

it's who the press protects!

JohnMcSameMcBushIII is so pissed that the press loves Obama he is pouting about this on his site and to the world via any media he can get t o listen.

But what can we say about the alleged "news" when they edit a JohnMcSameMcBushIII gaffe and call it "news."

Can we ask for the firing of Couric? This is certainly more crucial than Rather's news about the shrub - for which he did get fired!
[And remember that hinged on the validity of a piece of paper - no ever said the premise was wrong!]

Not fit to be Commander in Chief? The troops don't seem to agree!

Barack Obama is in Iraq and here is a clip from inside the embassy. I don't get the impression he "picked" only those who would cheer him [like some other C-I-C does]

So who really thinks Obama is not experienced enough to be C-I-C? I'm guessing it's that 20-something % of the people who still think mad king george is just doing a dandy job.

These people who will be most directly affected by the C-I-C seem to think Obama is ready!

An open letter to AARP's Bill Novelli

Dear Mr. Novelli

I have emailed you many times about my displeasure at your support of Medicare Part D and a request for an apology. I have sometimes been emailed back that my mail was forwarded to the appropriate department - or some such message [I think of that department as the "round file cabinet" of old – or today's trash button.]

I have not mailed you as I assume I'd also just be wasting my time as well trying that method – but after yet another letter from you filled with petitions and the ever present request to send money - I am posting this as an open letter on my blog. You may never see it - but others will.

Back when you supported Medicare Part D and I call it part D[umb] many of us predicted that costs for medications would sky rocket as would all health/medical costs. You dismissed our concerns and put the full power and credibility of AARP behind YOUR support of Medicare Part D[umb]. And guess what? We, the concerned non-supporters of that measure, were correct.

In my emails to you since that time I have asked for an apology. None came - I have not even seen you discuss your role in this – but then I don’t read every page of the AARP materials. I've also wondered what, if any, were the financial gains to you personally and to AARP - as it sells it's "name" to some of the very “health care” companies that are constantly raising their rates.

You keep sending out letters telling me that medical costs are increasing. Duh! I think we all know this. But it’s when you say that health care must be more affordable that you really anger me. See I blame you for a large part of the increased costs of much of this due to your support of Medicare Part D[umb].

Your recent scare letter with it’s underlined, bolded, and large letters is yet another in the long line of mail that I get from you – all seemingly calculated into scarring us into sending you more money. This is obviously my personal perspective but one that is shared by many I know. And the petition part, along with the request for money comes filled out with my name and/or my name and address.

What this means to me is that I need to waste more of my time shredding these forms. And while I am on this train of thought – I need to carefully go through your magazines to pull out and shred all the advertising in it, which also has my name and address pre-printed! I mentioned this a friend and she said she just tosses the magazine without reading - so now she too will have to go through and pull out the ads for shredding.

Add to this the endless junk mail from your advertisers and alleged “health care” partner – also all filled out for me.... and I wonder why you tell us to be careful about identity theft when you seemingly add to the potential for that problem!

For all these reasons I am no longer an AARP member. I renewed a while ago as I had signed up for your alleged “heath care” partner’s insurance which required that I be a member. That “partner” misrepresented its monthly costs and got downright nasty when I cancelled. But that’s another issue which I’m sure you will ignore.

Yours truly,

Lynn Dorman
