A thought

Seems the Iraqi "government" is going to crack down on the militias, etc...

It's about time...but as I was reading that - juxtaposed with shrubby's idea of escalation I thought that
maybe the Iraqi government has done more thinking about what a Democratic majority in the USA might do than has shrubby.

Bubble boy can not admit he is no longer in control of congress so he plods along in his own bubble with his yeasayers.

No one said Iraqi's are stupid...after all isn't that where civilization started? I think they are on the right track now while bubble boy stays in his bubble... or his dry drunk stupor?

Welcome Nancy Pelosi - WAY TO GO!!

OK - a WOMAN is in power in the USA. Took us long enough but it happened. And the previous speaker was not man enough to hand over the gavel...had his henchman do it...very odd...maybe he just does not like women.

Now it's time for Nancy to show the world what a woman in power can do - or a DEMOCRATIC woman can do. the rightwing had/has women in power positions and they acted like the male wingnuts....

speaking of which I see that Harriet Miers resigned and that was soon after Negroponte went off to help old friend Condi who is one of those female wingnuts mentioned above - or maybe she is contemplating a resignation and summoned him there to take over for her?

My prediction? January will see see more rates leaving the sinking ship

Tomorrow

I never saw Annie, but the song Tomorrow just popped into my head and I think it's from that musical?

Anyway - TOMORROW - in Washington, D.C. a brand new congress will be sworn in and it's the first time since I moved West that I wish I lived a lot closer so I could be there. Maybe I'm a bit nostalgic as I was sorting through some old papers and found my Metro pass from the day of Clinton's 1st inauguration! Still has $2.50 left on it - I kept it as a souvenir...I recall having a big party that year as well to celebrate taking back the country from the shrub family....

So instead of being in D.C. right now, I'll savor the victory from Oregon and plan a visit and party for January 2009!

No rants today - only a mazel tov to us the electorate and to the new majority in both houses...and hopes that they can act like Spitzer did today...now there was a 1st day agenda!!!!!

Another sad "number"

Today the 3000th of our children died in Iraq. The news clips say that shrub is mourning this death but from what I read he also added that there is no quick end to the war on terror.

I never could understand how anyone can have a "war" on a concept....Wars require specific enemies - not words or actions....

But it's 3000 of our children who have died over there and how many more Iraqi children have died? For what? And why do more have to die?

I hope the new Congress comes in and stops this insanity.

Peace and a saner New Year
