Darcy Burner

One of the neatest ads I have seen of late....

Not only is she smart - she has a sense of humor - of course she is a Democrat!

Things are good? in Iraq

Yoo hoo John McCain....may I suggest you read the news and see what is going on in Iraq.

I'm not a military strategist but this sure looks bad to me - I mean the Green Zone is in a shut down. and you say all is well there? I think you have a problem with reality.

And Petraeus? No more troop withdrawals? So we were correct in calling thi an escalation...a surge is short term - when they stay it's an occupation and in this instance - an occupation that escalatated.

And you both say that if we leave - chaos will folow...

Both of you - and mr c-in-c .... what do call the current status in Iraq? and ow does it differ from chaos?

Dear Hillary - an open letter

Hi there Hillary...

I lived in DC when you and BIll were in the WH and although life was pretty good with Bill as prez- you were never my favorite politicians..too eager to be the go-along-to get--along republican-lite for my taste.

If you had been winning primaries tho, and were the candidate - I would have been happy to campaign for you just like I campaigned for Bill...

But right now you are only proving to me that I was wrong about your republican lite status - you are republican with no lite needed. You who talked of the vast right wing conspiracy...you have now joined the same!

There's an old saying that if you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas ....well you are lying down with republicans and you are getting more and more tainted each day. If you and Bill like John McCain so much why don't you quit your campaign and ask McCain if you could be his VP? Why keep damaging, not only the democratic party, but the process? Why not be gracious and drop out while there is some shred of credibility left in your verbiage?

And so dear Hillary - I ask you, for the sake of my this country, our military and our sanity - to please please drop out of the race....NOW.

Thank you.

Poor Memory? or Lies?

In the days of omnipresent cameras, google, and youtube - why do politicians still lie?

Hhillary has been touting her great experiecnes - the ones that make her fit to be commander-in-chief.

Well - here is the CBS report on her "war time" experience...

Poor Hillary - she sounds as bad as Billo - when he tries to pretend he was "shot at."

If her memory is this bad, she might be starting to have some senior moments like her good friend McCain. Maybe that's why she likes him so much? [Birds of a feather?]

Another sad milestone

Yesterday the 4000th American child was killed in Iraq.....I say child because they are all someone's child..and there are more grieving parents today and that makes me cry....

I am a mother, my son was in the military and I know what it is like to have a constant stomach ache. My son's unit did not go to Iraq while he was active - but they did go after he finished his 8 year commitment.....

Selfishly, I am happy my son is out of the military and in college...

But just as I cried during the Vietnam War [way before I had my own child] I cry now.. I cry for every mother who loses a child to this madness we have created in Iraq.

And what do the candidates have to say?

Hillary:
In the last five years, our soldiers have done everything we asked of them and more. They were asked to remove Saddam Hussein from power and bring him to justice and they did. They were asked to give the Iraqi people the opportunity for free and fair elections and they did. They were asked to give the Iraqi government the space and time for political reconciliation, and they did. So for every American soldier who has made the ultimate sacrifice for this mission, we should imagine carved in stone: 'They gave their life for the greatest gift one can give to a fellow human being, the gift of freedom.

Barack:
Each death is a tragedy, and we honor every fallen American and send our thoughts and prayers to their families. It is past time to end this war that should never have been waged by bringing our troops home, and finally pushing Iraq's leaders to take responsibility for their future. As we do, we must serve the memory of all who have died as well as they served our country, by providing support for their families, caring for our troops and veterans, and upholding the American values which our fallen heroes exemplified through their service.

I am a Barack supporter and part of why can be read above - HE GETS IT! He knows how these parents hurt...he knows this war is wrong. He understands grief.. He is more of a mother than is Hillary.
