Congrats Nick and Greg

Nick Kahl and Greg Matthews are 2 of the hardest working campaigners that I met this year - from the primary through to yesterday!

They both won their House seats - and in East County!

Way to go to make Multnomah a better county for all!

YES WE DID - we certainly DID!

YES!   WE!    DID!

This is a few seconds after 8PM PST when we at the Oregon Convention Center knew that the closing of our polls out just put Obama over the 270 electoral votes!

It was a madhouse - but such a joyous joyful mad house.

Got Obama's message this morning:
I'm about to head to Grant Park to talk to everyone gathered there, but I wanted to write to you first.
We just made history.

And I don't want you to forget how we did it.

You made history every single day during this campaign -- every day you knocked on doors, made a donation, or talked to your family, friends, and neighbors about why you believe it's time for change.

I want to thank all of you who gave your time, talent, and passion to this campaign.

We have a lot of work to do to get our country back on track, and I'll be in touch soon about what comes next.

But I want to be very clear about one thing...

All of this happened because of you.

Thank you,

Barack
My Chicago family was at Grant Park for this historic moment in history!

[and I still get weepy about the enormity of what we just accomplished]

Getting Ready to PARTY in Oregon!!!

But 1st a funny - today at 3:38PM [PST] I got a robo call from - TA DA - the repugs!

[The phone is a business phone so they must have figured I was one of them - UGH]

Here's to a landslide of blue tonight - polls are closing back East and I'm getting nervous - optimistically nervous...my son lives in Chicago - Illinois is NOT nervous :-)

Tomorrow we wake up to the start of a new America....
