The C-I-C is about to go out again

Okay all you cheerleaders - your cheerleader-in-chief is about to take his show on the road again. Watch and learn how to not be a cheerleader.

Let's think back - what if George Washington had taken two tours of the then country to tell the people why he was fighting a war. He never would have been president as all would have thought him an idiot. Next think of Lincoln running around cheer leading of the Civil War....Dumb idea - instead he worked with others at actually having a plan.

How about FDR? Did he tour the USA cheering for WWII? Nope! He actually spoke with other world leaders and cooperated. But then we had a real enemy - not a war on a concept or tactic.

But King Shrub will go make speeches telling us we will stay the course. By now everyone has heard the phrase about the definition of insanity:

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Need we say more about the mental status of shrub? Not only is he a lame duck - he's a lame brain.

Peace

F---ing unbelievable!

The idiot-in-charge actually said this yesterday:

"As we work to advance the equality of women in the world's newest democracies, we must remember that many women in other countries around the world are still struggling for basic rights in places like Iran and North Korea and Burma. America will help women stand up for their freedom, no matter where they live."

That when South Dakota has made abortion illegal. When Cindy Sheehan and Code Pink are arrested trying to deliver petitions. When women in the countries we wrongly attacked are being raped, being subjected to the rules of their own rightwing extremists, and being denied education....

If this is the idiot-in-charges way of advancing equality of women - we are all doomed!

Thank you Bush, Roberts and Alito

You have brought forth venom from the idiotic lawmakers who are proposing and passing laws we had not considered in a very long time. I can only hope this slew of stupidity makes a dent on the brain washed minds of the people who voted for the current dictator.

South Dakota? Read all about that on any blog. It was planned as a test case - they want this to go to the Supreme Court - where we have a new justice who actually thanked the wingnuts for supporting him.

There will be more laws like this - these "bring back the 18th Century" men want control - over laws, women, property, children, states and finances.

Then we have Missouri trying to declare Christianity the official religion and become a state that will not protect other religions.

I can't wait to see what other "new" laws are passed in the various states....

I have a solution - let's allow all the wingnut states to secede. Let them have their own country - charge them tolls to use "our" roads and facilities - and let them pay for their own idiotic states. Yes I would feel sorry for those more sane people in those states but they allowed these wing nuts to be elected.

Maybe we should never have tried to be one country - let's take an example from the dissolution of Checkoslovakia. Maybe we can figure a neat way to divide into a few countries. Those in power do not represent me and worse they do not even try to do so - the 37% of the country they do represent can have their own country and those of us - the MAJORITY - can have our own too.

Oops

Started teaching and blogging took a hiatus...

Rick Santorum - the PA Sen said this:

"And yet we have brave men and women who are willing to step forward because they know what's at stake. They're willing to sacrifice their lives for this great country. What I'm asking all of you tonight is not to put on a uniform. Put on a bumper sticker. Is it that much to ask? Is it that much to ask to step up and serve your country?"

Actually he was talking about his own bumper sticker- he's not doing well in Pa.

But here's an idea for Congresspeople like him to propose:

Let's give the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan a choice - they can stay where they are or they can come home and place a bumper sticker on their car. Since it's all the same for chickenhawks like Santorum - why not do this?

Presidents' Day

These quotes are not from Presidents - but from real patriots - I'd title this Patriot's Day but that is in April; only in Boston; and now remembered for a marathon : )

"The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government -- lest it come to dominate our lives and interests."

Patrick Henry

"...There is no nation on earth powerful enough to accomplish our overthrow. ... Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence, I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing." :

Daniel Webster
