The " they no longer amaze me" hypocrites

R's cease to amaze me...I think they ceased to amaze me during RR's reign. Now - it's become a what-would-they-have-to-do to amaze me or anyone? Hmmmm - tell the truth?

Crooks, liars, on-the-take graft, lobbyists, and hypocrites.

If you have an R after your name it seems you are allowed, by the alleged MSM, to be total hypocrites and nothing is said.

Up or down vote or the nuclear option was the R cry during the Roberts and Alito votes.

Now - when the D's have power - the R's want all votes on anything to do with Iraq be mandated to require a 60 vote majority - or they will .... guess what?

Or they will filibuster!....saying it's their "right" or whatever garbage they chose to use as words...

Only r's have rights - the rest of us are supposed to go-along-to-get-along.

I hope they have a great pajama party tonight.....those damned hypocrites- let them lose some sleep and golf and martini time !

Let's finally take care of our children who are caught in the R's mess in Iraq....[oh yes - and one I]

Progress?

This is like the idiot saying we are "turning corners"

if you turn enough corners you are going in circles - and if you do keep going - you erode the ground you are circling on and sink deeper...

So here is a clip from Youtube about "progress" - mad king george style:

Correlations

When I was in graduate school - correlational research was frowned upon...after all - such research did not predict a direction...it only showed what went together...

My Ph.D. thesis was a correlational study...it showed how a specific behavior correlated with different cognitive aspects of 5-year-olds. I'm sure some profs were unhappy with my decision to look at correlations - but the research was presented at a peer meeting and subsequently published - probably to the chagrin of some who said don't do this kind of work.

Over the years, I did other kinds of research but my head still loves correlations and so here I am today still thinking correlationallly

Today's correlational thought is about Iraq...

Has anyone noticed that as we escalated [ Mr. 28 %'s "surge" ] the deaths and violence in Iraq have moved along at a steady pace - i.e. they are correlated...

Yes - it does not say which came first - but is that necessary? to me if two things go together - changing one will change the other- so if we escalate - Iraq violence escalates...If we de-escalate, Iraq violence de-escalates.

Simple? Yes - correlational research is fairly simple - you see that two things go together and you can see how to make them go together in different ways.... Only two variables - so easy - yet so hard for our brilliant Mr. 28% to understand -

At least the profs in grad schools weren't killing anyone with their lack of liking to look at correlations ...Mr. 28% is a killing machine because he refuses to see how things work together - in tandem...or how they correlate...so simple even a simpleton who allegedly went to Business School should be able to see it...

Disillusioned Soldiers

From MoveOn

George Bush keeps saying that he's the one who supports the troops and those of us who want to end the war don't. Someone has to take him on for that. And John Bruhns—who served in Iraq as a sergeant—is the man to do it.

MoveOn members chose John to be the subject of a TV ad by Oliver Stone as part of our VideoVets project. After coming home, John decided he could no longer remain silent. He says keeping our troops in Iraq without end is "wrong, immoral, and irresponsible." He's brave and patriotic, and his first-hand truth is an essential antidote to the administration's lies.

We talked to John this morning, and he's really moved by this whole experience. Here's a note he asked us to pass on to MoveOn members:

I'm overwhelmed by the statements of those who saw my video. I can't put into words how honored I am that people were so moved by it. For so long I felt so helpless—in a sense that there was nothing I could do to make a difference in regards to ending the war and educating the American people on the reality of the situation. I made a promise to myself in Iraq that if I was lucky enough to make it home I would do everything in my power to help transition us out of the war. Thank you all so very much for giving me this tremendous opportunity. I am very grateful.

Oliver Stone and his team are working on the ad as we speak. And John is getting ready to get on a plane and go work with them. We want to make sure as many people as possible hear John's message about the real cost of war.

Here is John's video clip:
